Briony Beveridge draws on a lifetime of experience: She competed her Masters in of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Toronto after completing her Bachelor’s in Anthropology from McGill University in Montreal. Since graduating she has undertaken a plethora of post-graduate courses which inform her practice. Recent studies in Pain Care Yoga, Pilates rehabilitation, exercise prescription for the cervical spine, and several advanced courses in orthopedic manual physiotherapy have expanded her skill set. Her own experience recovering from a serious accident allows her to understand first-hand the challenges her clients face.

Briony considers it a privilege to accompany her clients in their pursuit of well-being.  With presence and empathy, she provides the guidance needed to take control of your own healthfulness.  While Briony has a strong background in manual therapy, she believes that information and exercises are the tools that leave clients most empowered to healthy movement for life.

Briony enjoys using breath and body awareness in her treatments of any part of the body, especially for people who have been living with pain for a long time. Her clinical interests include chronic pain, nerve pain, and trauma, and she is confident in treating all parts of the body. She is currently exploring how to help when people’s physical health is negatively affected by their emotional health.  Childbirth, fertility awareness, and teaching toddlers sign language are other areas she would like to delve into.

Briony moved to Vancouver Island in 2014 and is thrilled with the outdoor opportunities it has to offer.  She enjoys hiking, snowshoeing, jumping in the river, yoga, and has recently discovered a passion for composting and peramaculture gardening.
